JEREMY CURWIN THE NEW CEO OF CANTERBURY CRICKET

Jeremy Curwin has been appointed as the Chief Executive of Canterbury Cricket. Jeremy Curwin replaces Lee Germon who has accepted a role as the General Manager of Sydney Thunder.

Canterbury Cricket Board Chairman, Ashley Taggart, said that Jeremy Curwin was a stand-out candidate in a very qualified field of applicants and that he brought with him an understanding of elite sport and running highly motivated teams towards goals and a common vision. Jeremy Curwin excelled as being a strategic thinker, with a high attention to detail and possessing strong leadership skills.

Jeremy Curwin’s most previous role has been as the Head of Commerical Operations at Somerset County Cricket Club. In his 5 years in this role, he has helped Somerest CCC increase their sponsorship revenue by 30% year on year as well as bucking the national trend in the UK, by increasing the Somerset CCC membership base. He introduced a media and digital strategy that led to subsequent increases in social media following at the Somerset CCC.

Prior to that, Jeremy Curwin has worked at Bath Rugby Club as their Commercial Manager and Marketing and Communications Director and with Red Bull where he was the Regional Brand Manager and the Mainstream Sports Manager.

Jeremy Curwin will start his role in late September and will move to Christchurch with his partner and young family.

BURGER KING SUPER SMASH SCHEDULE RELEASED

New Zealand’s Christmas and New Year holiday season will once again be jam-packed with explosive T20 action, this time with a new name and partner.

The Burger King Super Smash will again focus on the festive part of the summer, beginning at a slightly later date of 13 December and culminating in a final on 20 January.

The 2017-18 Burger King Super Smash will include:

  • A total of 32 matches; 30 round robin matches, an elimination playoff between 2nd & 3rd, and the Final
  • The competition will be played across 11 different venues between Invercargill and Auckland
  • SKY Sport will broadcast 15 of the matches, including both the elimination match and Final
  • There will be live commentary of 15 matches on radio sport, while all matches will be live-scored on supersmash.co.nz

New Zealand Cricket’s CEO, David White, said the public had made it clear what the best window for the shortest format was.

“We made some changes to our T20 competition last year and the feedback we received was really positive,” said White.

“The popularity of the games being played over the Christmas and New Year period really shone through, so you can expect to see even more of that this season.

“The atmosphere and quality of cricket played in 2016-17 was exceptional and we want to use that momentum coming into this year’s competition.”

White added that Burger King’s enthusiasm in helping to promote T20 cricket was a huge asset of the new partnership.

“Obviously they have a significant profile which stretches across New Zealand, so their involvement is going to be hugely valuable and we’re lucky to have them on board.”

James Woodbridge, BK’s GM-Marketing believes the brands involvement can elevate the competition to a new level, leveraging off the learnings from Joseph Parkers “Road to the Title” campaign.

“The competition has all the ingredients to engage main stream NZ in a similar vein to other high profile Twenty20 competitions around the world. We’re very excited about the opportunity to bring summer to life with the Burger King Super Smash”

The lady at the answering machine did not seem to have a set rental schedule, so I called the desk before going into the store. She told me that I could purchase a half day rate or a full day rate for one week.

For the next two weeks, I was able to rent a panel and paint unit at this particular Auckland unit. I took advantage of the price per week and marked down my prices by 10%. I was able to pay about $310 for the two weeks.

Once I got home, I opened up the NYC app and searched for the Auckland closets that I had visited. I noticed a few in the city center and decided to check out two more. Of course, I already knew what unit I wanted because I rented a closet full service.
