How Can I Use A Self Storage Unit To Store A Panel And Paint?

When I get out of the Auckland airport on the way to Wellington, I take a moment to stop in at the airport shuttle service so I can restock my New Zealand Traveller’s Chequebook. Just as I’m leaving I hear someone ask if the self-storage company is able to store a panel and paint at the same time.

Panel and beaters AucklandĀ are very similar but I want to make sure my customer knew that I was able to store both at the same time. The only hitch in my mind was whether I could fit a wheeled cart in the space between the two storage units. Luckily, I had this one small problem worked out. So, I asked the operator what it would take to fit this cart.

It would have taken one of the racks for the panel and another rack for the paint. So, I was able to create a full service closet for all my storage needs. I would still need to apply a cover over the two units but I got rid of the need to pay an extra fee for a self-storage unit.

As I was driving through Auckland, I read an article about these types of closets and found out that they could be rented for a week or two in the Wellington area. Some were over two weeks. These spaces were ideal for storing items that are not usually used during the holiday season.

Most people rent a closet full service to store their clothing, but not everyone wants to do that. They may want the privacy of having the item completely off the floor.

As I was driving from Wellington to Auckland, I checked out the market for self-storage units. There are many of them in the Central Business District. I saw four different ones in an open area at the corner of Chiswickand Duke streets.

These four units were the most expensive with the prices ranging from under $250 per week. That made me wonder how much of a discount I would be able to get by renting one of these units instead of buying one.

Since I was renting a unit in Auckland, I decided to call the company and find out if there were any deals I could find like this. I also wanted to find out if there were any discounts for the half day or full day rentals.

The lady at the answering machine did not seem to have a set rental schedule, so I called the desk before going into the store. She told me that I could purchase a half day rate or a full day rate for one week.

For the next two weeks, I was able to rent a panel and paint unit at this particular Auckland unit. I took advantage of the price per week and marked down my prices by 10%. I was able to pay about $310 for the two weeks.

Once I got home, I opened up the NYC app and searched for the Auckland closets that I had visited. I noticed a few in the city center and decided to check out two more. Of course, I already knew what unit I wanted because I rented a closet full service.

I was able to find a comparable unit in the Wellington area for around twice the market value. If you are looking for this type of closet rental, New Zealand is the perfect place to go.
